What will the teaching be like?

The emphasis of the teaching will be on developing your ability to understand French and communicate in French.

All teaching sessions will be planned to increase your confidence, accuracy and fluency, and to prepare you to use your French during our carefully prepared programme of visits.

French, at a level appropriate to your experience and needs, will be the main medium of communication. Occasionally English will be used, for example to discuss a language-learning strategy or an important concept.

Each day will include some formal tuition with the whole group (maximum group size will be 14). There will also be opportunities for pair and small group work.

The way you will use your French in the teaching sessions will vary. It could involve carrying out simple assignments, playing games, solving problems or taking part in structured discussions.

When you are making visits, you will be encouraged and helped to ask questions and understand information.

Throughout the course the emphasis is on enjoyment.

Periods of free time will be built into the programme of lessons and visits to give you the chance to relax, go for a stroll, have a swim, read or do some private study.
